Site Preparation Requirements

Proper site preparation is crucial for a successful delivery

Ground Surface
  • Level, firm, and stable surface
  • Compacted gravel, concrete, or asphalt preferred
  • Avoid soft soil, grass, or mud
  • Ground must support 8,000-10,000 lbs per corner
Soft ground can cause container to sink or become unlevel
Overhead Clearance
  • Minimum 14 feet vertical clearance
  • Check for power lines, tree branches, building overhangs
  • 20 feet overhead clearance recommended for crane deliveries
  • Account for delivery vehicle height (13-14 feet)
Contact utility company if power lines are near delivery path
Level Ground
  • Site should be within 3 inches of level
  • Use leveling blocks or pier blocks if needed
  • Slope away from container for drainage
  • Avoid low spots where water can pool
Clear the Area
  • Remove all obstacles from delivery path
  • Clear placement area of debris, rocks, vegetation
  • Move vehicles, equipment, yard furniture
  • Ensure pets and children are safely away
